The treatments can be carried out "in residence"
(a private room and meals are provided), or as "out patient" (meals

Ayurveda defines marma as vital energy points - these points are the congregation of two or more bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, vessels, nerves, organs, etc. A marma point is the site of concentrated energy (life force - prana) which ayurveda recommends be protected. These marma points are related to various systems and organs and are spread all over the body. There could be several causes of imbalances to marma points such as injury, inherited weakness, or toxins or ama blocking the flow of energy. Different kinds of marma therapy programs are becoming popular and are offered either to complement other ayurveda treatments or alone for prevention or health maintenance, as well as to treat specific disorders. Preventative treatments: This program is offered in the form of whole body massage, with special attention to marma points like the heart, brain and kidneys (the three great marma points - three main regulators of life) and other marma points which might be weak or blocked in a person due to, for example, inheritance. Specially prepared herbalized oils blended with essential oils (aroma oils) which have a balancing effect on the three dosha (vata, pitta and kapha) are recommended for the whole body massage according to dominant dosha. These treatments help free up blockages and maintain the flow of life energy in a coordinated and harmonious way, so that all the systems function properly. Restorative treatments for specific imbalances: these treatments are offered by trained marma therapists - a gentle pressure massage using a specific pattern, with a particular combination of essential oils is given to the associated marma points to produce beneficial effects on disorders. Conditions that are successfully treated by marma therapy include sinus, migraine, headaches, bronchial asthma, arthritis, sciatica, chronic fatigue, immune disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, neuromuscular tension and pains, thyroid disorders, dizziness, hypertension, skin disorders, depression, etc. Typically, marma therapy treatment sessions are given 2 to 3 times a week for 6 to 8 weeks, with each session taking between 1/2 to 1 hour. Yoga Exercise
Ayurveda and yoga are integral parts of an ayurveda health consultation. Yoga is described in the texts of ayurveda and visa versa - they have been practiced together for thousands for years and are very complementary. Yoga recommendations have two main aspects: asanas (postures - neuro muscular coordination) and pranayam (balancing breathing exercises - neuro-respiratory coordination). Yoga is found effective in improving mind-body coordination, flexibility, physical and mental strength and energy, in boosting the immune system, and as a preventative procedure. In a health consultation, specific asanas and pranayam may be recommended for correcting various kinds of imbalances. In addition, yoga classes will be offered in conjunction with trained yoga teachers for prevention and health maintenance. “Yoga
is the union of the individual self with the universal self” -B.K.S.
