Amita S. Nathwani, MA is of Indian origin and received her Ayurvedic education in both India and North America. This has given her the gift of being true to the purity of Ayurvedic knowledge while understanding its application in the western world. With the support of her two teachers, Dr. Hemant Gupta and Dr. Shirish Nathwani, she has been practicing Ayurveda in Durango, Colorado, USA for the last 7 years.
Amita also serves as the Executive Co-Director for Healthy LifeStyle La Plata and Nutrition Specialist for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe in Ignacio, CO.
Michele Lawrence (ERYT 500) certified Yoga Therapist, is the co-owner of Yoga Durango and has been practicing yoga since 2000. Michele works closely with the Ayurveda Center of Durango to help facilitate healing by bringing a therapeutic and medical approach to Yoga. In addition to working with clients, Michele co-teaches educational classes on Ayurveda and Yoga. She is also the director of Inner Peace Yoga Therapy a 300-hour yoga teacher training program.
Mark Nasralla has been practicing Ayurvedic rejuvenation therapies and bodywork for 20 years. Initially trained in Panch Karma Ayurveda treatments in 1991, Mark has held leadership and instructor positions at premier Ayurveda treatment centers including; the Lancaster Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center under Deepak Chopra, the Heavenly Mountain Chronic Disease Center and the Raj Resort. He excels in designing custom treatment plans for clients based on their individual needs. Mark has been fortunate to receive authentic personal instruction and training with renowned traditional Ayurveda practitioners. Mark works with the Ayurveda Center of Durango in helping to create PanchaKarma programs for clients.
Dr. Hemant Gupta BAMS, is one of the original founding members of the Ayurveda Center of Durango and teacher (Vaidya) to Amita Nathwani. Dr. Gupta's extensive 25 years of experience in Ayurvedic Medicine and Holistic health continues to attract people of all cultures and lifestyle backgrounds. Since receiving his MD degree in Ayurvedic Medicine, and a degree in Natural Medicine, Dr. Gupta has been consulting with and treating patients, conducting research, publishing professional articles, lecturing and teaching internationally on his findings.
